Large, Cheery, Mid-Century Bungalow
Welcome to this spacious, light-filled, 744 sq. ft., open-plan studio in the beautiful Club Condominiums. This hidden gem in North Palm Springs was built in 1972 as the 3rd addition to the original Racquet Club of Palm Springs. 1970’s Hollywood royalty used this gated spot as a getaway (in fact, Dustin Hoffman owned two units across the courtyard) since the buildings are all very private, semi-detached bungalows with their own patios and full kitchens.
The unit has cool, white tile floors inside and out onto the huge, private patio and seating area where a dogwood tree offers a mixture of shade and dappled sunlight for outdoor lounging. Floor to ceiling windows showcase stunning Mt. San Jacinto rising 10,000 feet above the desert floor. Case Study furniture and period-appropriate touches throughout add to the romantic appeal of this pied-à-terre. There is a Queen sized bed and 2 daybeds that can be converted to twins for the occasional overflow guest, a Smart TV (& Bluetooth soundbar) with access to streaming channels as well as cable, a fully equipped kitchen, an in-unit washer/dryer, a stereo with ceiling speakers in every corner, and an electric grill on the patio.
The resort-like grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained with mature fruit trees, palms, a large pool, and a delightfully shaped spa (with long, 1-ft. deep sections to stretch out in and watch the star-filled sky at night). Your daily soundtrack is the rustling of the palms and the singing of the birds. Club Condominiums is a quiet, peaceful place to enjoy desert living at its finest. Not a place for parties or loud gatherings (although The Riviera is close by if you want to take in the chic desert social scene), guests are asked to respect the peace and privacy that makes this the perfect home for many full-time residents.
The Los Angeles based designer/owner has been coming out to the desert since she was a child and always dreamed of having her own place in Palm Springs. With this, she found her own personal Parker Hotel.
There is a 3 night minimum for a standard reservation.
